Info Every Dog Trainer should Know

This book is a compilation of my most informative articles I wrote on my blog and physical, local publications. It's organized in categories, cleared of all ads, and therefore much easier to access. As a warning, I'd like to remind you this book is raw and unapologetic.

Just finished up the 5 day shadow program with Will! I had the best time! Out of all the other dog training seminars or workshops I’ve done this one is clearly above all! Will went over learning theory, E-collar work, protection training, and decoy work. He filled some much needed gaps in my dog training knowledge and eloquently answered all my extra questions without being annoyed or intimated by them. Which, trust me, is hard to find in the dog training industry when you’re trying to really learn. He also coached my dog and I - I already see improvements and can’t wait to see where implementing his expert advice will take us. I got to see how he works with clients and his own dogs. You can see the amount of time, effort, and dedication he has put into each of them. I mean taking a dog all the way to trial in PSA3 is no minor thing!! Being able to decoy for his dogs was the highlight of it all!! I felt safe, comfortable, and just had the best time! Will not only “talks the talk” but he seriously walks the walk of an amazing dog trainer and mentor. If you wondered if his program is worth your time and money I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Texas isn’t suffering a shortage of dog trainers. Even good ones aren’t too hard to find. So why do I make the (3hr each way) drive to get coached by and have my dogs worked at Canis Fortis?

TLDR: Experience.

Actually, a special blend of experience that is pretty rare!

First, It is not always easy being an adult learner, and teaching one can be a challenge. William has spent years training other dog trainers, and he does an exceptional job creating the rapport necessary for learning to take place.

Second, he knows how to build a young working dog. It’s a joy to watch him read my dog as well or better than I can, making the tiniest adjustments on the fly to keep her progressing with confidence.

Third, he has experience training for and competing in the sport that we are interested in (PSA).

Lastly, he has real world working dog experience that fills in the “big picture” gaps often seen in pet and sport only training programs.
